How Long Will a Laptop Run on a 300Wh Power Station?
A typical 60W ultrabook or business laptop will get roughly 3–4 full battery charges, or 8–10 hours of plugged-in use, on a 300Wh power station. A 30W Chromebook gets 6+ charges. A 150W gaming laptop gets only 1.5–2 charges or about 4 hours of plugged operation.

The Math, Worked Out
Formula: (Battery Wh × 0.85) ÷ Device watts = Runtime hours
Battery: 300 Wh
Usable after 15% inverter loss: 255 Wh
60W laptop average running draw: 60 W
(300 × 0.85) ÷ 60 = 4.3 hours plugged in via AC.
Via USB-C PD (bypassing the inverter): roughly 5–5.5 hours at the wall draw level, or about 4 full charges of a 70Wh laptop battery.
Variables That Affect the Answer
- Workload. A laptop idling at 15W draws 4× less than the same laptop rendering video at 60W. Real average is usually 40–60% of the rated charger wattage.
- Charger size vs. actual draw. A 65W USB-C charger doesn't mean the laptop pulls 65W constantly — only briefly during fast charging from low battery.
- Screen brightness and external accessories. A bright screen + external monitor + USB hub easily doubles draw.
- AC vs. USB-C PD. USB-C bypasses the inverter for ~15% efficiency gain. Use it whenever possible.
- Battery state of charge. Laptops draw the most power when charging from 0–80%. Trickle charging from 80–100% draws less.
