  • No Bluetooth monitoring
  • Cold-temp cutoff at 32F limits cold-weather use without a heater

Our Review

Van lifers and small-RV owners know the pain: you need lithium battery capacity but your battery compartment was designed for a single Group 24 lead-acid. The LiTime 100Ah Mini exists specifically for this problem. At 10.24 x 5.22 x 8.39 inches and 19.4 pounds, it is roughly 30% smaller than a standard 100Ah LiFePO4 battery. That size difference is the entire reason to consider it.

The Compact Advantage

The Mini form factor is genuinely useful. It fits in battery compartments that reject full-size 100Ah lithium batteries. It slides under seats, mounts in awkward cabinet spaces, and leaves room for a second battery in compartments that could only fit one full-size unit. For van conversions where every cubic inch is accounted for, this is a meaningful advantage.

At 19.4 pounds, it is also one of the lightest 100Ah LiFePO4 batteries available. You can carry it with one hand and install it without help. The built-in BMS provides standard protections — overcharge, overdischarge, short-circuit, and low-temperature cutoff at 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

The 4,000-cycle lifespan at 100% depth of discharge is excellent, matching batteries that cost twice as much. At under $200, you are getting roughly $1.60 per Ah of LiFePO4 capacity, which is competitive with any budget brand and dramatically cheaper than premium alternatives.

The 100A continuous discharge rate supports inverters up to about 1,200W, which covers most van life loads: fridge, lights, fan, laptop, phone charging. Series and parallel configurations are supported, so you can build a 24V system or add capacity as budget allows.

The Trade-Offs

No Bluetooth monitoring means you are installing a separate battery monitor. This is par for the course at this price point, but it adds $50-80 to your actual build cost. Factor that in when comparing prices.

The 32-degree cold cutoff is standard for budget LiFePO4 but limits cold-weather charging. If you are winter camping in Colorado or Montana, you need a battery heater or an insulated compartment. The LiTime does not offer a self-heating variant in the Mini form factor.

Compared to the Renogy 100Ah LiFePO4, which costs about $80 more, you lose IP65 waterproofing and Bluetooth monitoring. The Renogy is also physically larger, which may or may not matter for your build. If your compartment fits a standard-size battery, the Renogy’s added features are worth the premium. If it does not, the LiTime Mini is your answer.

Who Should Buy It

Buy the LiTime 100Ah Mini if you have a space-constrained build — a van conversion, a small RV, a boat, or any installation where standard-size batteries simply do not fit. It is also a strong budget pick for anyone building their first lithium battery bank who does not need Bluetooth.

Skip it if you have room for a full-size battery. The Renogy 100Ah LiFePO4’s IP65 rating and Bluetooth monitoring are worth the extra $80 when space is not a constraint. The Mini’s value proposition is entirely about fitting where others cannot. If that is not your problem, it is not your battery.
