Pros & Cons
What We Like
- 5-year warranty — longer than Jackery SolarSaga (3 yrs)
- MC4 + XT60 + DC5521 adapters included — works with most stations, not just UDPOWER
- TUV certified
- Suitcase-style fold with integrated kickstand
- $200 on sale is competitive with non-Jackery 100-120W panels
Watch Out For
- 120W is small — need two panels for the S1200 or S2400 to use the full 400W input
- MSRP $420 is high; only buy on sale
- Efficiency rating not published
- No IP68 waterproof rating
Our Review
UDPOWER’s 120W foldable solar panel is the entry-tier pairing for the C200, C400, and C600 stations. At $199 on sale (MSRP $419 — only buy on sale), it competes with the Jackery SolarSaga 100W and the Anker 100W foldable at a slightly higher wattage and a more flexible connector set.
The headline feature is the included adapter pack. Most foldable panels in this class lock you into a single connector — usually MC4 or a brand-proprietary plug. The UDPOWER 120W ships with MC4, XT60, and DC5521 adapters in the box, which means it will work with a UDPOWER C-series station, an EcoFlow RIVER series, a Jackery Explorer 240/300, a Bluetti AC70, and most third-party charge controllers.
Real-World Output
UDPOWER rates the panel at 120W under ideal lab conditions. In direct mid-day sun in late spring (about 65°F ambient, panel angled toward the sun), I measured 95-105W of input at the charge controller of a UDPOWER C600. That’s roughly 80-87% of rated wattage, which is typical for foldable panels in the field.
In partial cloud cover I saw 50-70W. In dense overcast, 15-25W. These are real-world figures — the lab spec is a useful comparison metric, not a runtime planning number.
The 5-Year Warranty
Most foldable panels in the sub-$250 class carry a 1- to 3-year warranty. The Jackery SolarSaga 200W carries 3 years. The Anker PS400 carries 2 years on the cells (5 on the workmanship). The UDPOWER 120W carries a flat 5-year warranty — matching the brand’s station-side commitment.
For a foldable panel that lives in a truck bed, gets unfolded and refolded weekly, and sits in 100°F+ summer sun, the longer warranty is worth the modest premium over budget Amazon panels.
The Suitcase Form Factor
The panel folds into a suitcase about the size of an artist’s portfolio (21” x 16”). The integrated kickstand has three angle positions. The carry handle is built into the fold seam and doesn’t add bulk when carrying.
Setup takes about 30 seconds: unfold, set the kickstand, connect the cable to the station. The whole assembly stays stable in moderate wind; in gusty conditions you’ll want to weight the panel or stake the kickstand.
What It Won’t Do
120W is the floor of the “useful” foldable category. For the UDPOWER S1200 (400W solar input) you’d want two of these in parallel to make meaningful use of the input ceiling. For the S2400 you’d want at least the UDPOWER 210W panel or two 120W panels — a single 120W panel pairs with the smaller C-series stations.
There is no IP68 rating. The panel is rated for splash-resistance and surface moisture but not full submersion. If you’re caught in a rainstorm, fold and put the panel away.
Who Should Buy It
Buy it if you own a UDPOWER C200, C400, or C600 and want a brand-matched foldable, you want a foldable that works across multiple brands of station, or you want the longest warranty in the $200 foldable class.
Skip it if you own an S1200 or S2400 and want a single panel that uses meaningful capacity of the 400W input — get the 210W panel instead, or buy two 120W panels.
The Bottom Line
For $199 on sale, the UDPOWER 120W is a clean entry-tier foldable. The connector flexibility and the 5-year warranty are the buying reasons. Avoid the MSRP — at $419 there are better choices. On sale, it’s the right pairing for the UDPOWER C-series and a reasonable cross-brand option.
